Probably still corners and brakes like a ‘70s GM turd, though. A boosted M30 and Getrag 265 can’t fix everything ...

C4 style su
spension parts to make old GM boats handle are pretty common in the aftermarket. It could be done relatively easily. This is probably just a point-and-shoot car, though, as you said.
Can't say it's the choice I'd have made for a malaise Olds, but it certainly is different, I'll give them that.

It’s an unusual choice to say the least. Good for stealth though.
I’ve always wanted to put a BMW drivetrain in a TR6. Others have done it, so it’s not something new. If I were rich and moved back to California I’d probably do it to a ‘74 using an E46 M3 engine just to screw with the CARB.

More HP fixes everything.

Nah, it’s fine. It’s only sacrilegious
if you swap engines
with a different Big-3 manufacturer.
In saying that, Blasphemi is still awesome

Small blocks have been put into literally everything for decades, so it's fun and interesting when the reverse happens. A waste of time and money, perhaps, but as long as the owner's happy (and the significant other tolerates it) who cares.

A feisty SBC with about 275 horsepower would do the trick very nicely and be a lot easier. Also, that platform commonly came with a 250 I-6; why not build one of those rather than fight with the big Beamer engine? This just leaves me feeling a bit confused.

The Olds probably had some sentimental value, like it was grandma’s car or something. He’s obviously a BMW enthusiast give the other BMW (E46?) in the driveway, so why not combine the remnants of the rusty E28 he had with the Olds?
